Who is responsible

Rune Rampart: Hero Defense (com.karasgamestudios.herodefense) is developed by Václav Karas, operating as Karas Game Studios. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].

Game progress and settings

The game has no player accounts. Apart from the optional anonymous gameplay statistics described below (off unless you turn them on), we, the developer, receive no data about you. Your progress and settings are saved only in a file on your device. Until a reward granted for an ad is added to your progress, the game keeps a note of it on your device so that it is not lost if the game closes; this note is not sent anywhere. The game has no advertising analytics, online leaderboards or Firebase. Clearing the game’s data or uninstalling the game deletes the file.

Android backup

If Android backup is turned on, Android may back up the game’s file to your own Google account under Google’s terms. This is managed by Android and Google, not a Karas Game Studios cloud-save service, and we have no access to it.

Optional ads and consent

The only parts of the game that use the internet are Google’s libraries for ads and consent; they send their data to Google over encrypted connections (HTTPS). The game offers optional rewarded ads: videos and shorter rewarded interstitial ads. You choose to watch one and get the reward written on its button; before a shorter ad the game shows what it gives, and you can say no. The game shows no other ads. To have them ready, the game may load one ad of each kind in advance after a won battle (once a battle, with longer pauses after a failed load).

Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) serves the ads. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may process your device’s advertising ID and app set ID, an approximate location derived from your IP address, information about how you interact with ads and with the app, and diagnostic data such as crash logs and performance information. Google acts as an independent controller of this data. How Google uses partner data · how long Google keeps data.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland (and wherever else the law requires it), Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) asks for your consent before ads are personalized. To check whether consent is needed, the game contacts UMP when it starts, and again on the victory screen if that is not known yet. Where consent applies, you can change your choice at any time in SETTINGS → PRIVACY AND ADS. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your Android settings. Without an internet connection, or if no ad is available, ads are simply not offered; the game keeps working offline.

Optional anonymous gameplay statistics

On its first launch the game asks once whether it may send anonymous gameplay statistics. They stay off unless you answer YES, and you can turn them on or off at any time in SETTINGS → GAMEPLAY STATS.

Purchases

The game has no in-app purchases. Everything in the in-game shop is bought with gold and gems earned by playing.

Sharing your weekly result

Only when you tap SHARE does the game open Android’s share menu with a short text (your time and the week’s target); you choose where it goes. Nothing is sent otherwise.

Children

The game is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Contacting support

When you contact us, we use your email address, message and attachments to handle your request. Do not send sensitive information that is unnecessary to resolve it. We retain correspondence for as long as needed for the request and related claims, normally no more than 12 months after closure. Email is provided by Google Gmail.

This website

Our hosting and Cloudflare deliver and protect this website and provide HTTPS. They may process IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs and browser information. We have not added visitor analytics or advertising tracking to the website. Access logs on our server rotate daily, with at most 14 rotated files retained. Cloudflare also processes data under its privacy policy.

Purposes, legal bases and recipients

We process the information needed to handle support requests to perform a contract or take pre-contractual steps. Security and technical troubleshooting rely on legitimate interests; legal obligations are handled under applicable law. Where advertising technologies require consent, we rely on your choice. Google and Cloudflare may process information outside the EEA; their policies linked above describe recipients, transfers and safeguards.

Deletion and your rights

Clear the app’s data or uninstall it to remove local progress. Manage Google backups and data processed by Google in your Google account (myaccount.google.com); uninstalling alone does not remove them. Apart from the anonymous statistics, which turning them off deletes, we hold no game data about you. Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact us at the address above. You may complain to your data protection authority, including the Czech ÚOOÚ.

Updates

We will update this policy when features or data practices change, with a new date on this page.
